Evolving our cities to ‘smarten up’
Development and construction techniques are slow to change and, to a large degree remain unchanged in decades. The last large technique update started inthe early 2000’s, making sustainable and ‘green’ features to household recognition. The next evolution will much much more drastic.
Technology allows us to add a nervous system to our historically “dumb” cities. Data collection and dissemination will allow urban planners, engineers, developers and builders to make decisions based on live usage, and politicians to interact with a populace in all new ways. We’re supremely curious to see how we inlay new tech into already constructed environments and what revolutions those will start with how we use our built environments.
